This modern two-story home in Barton Hills is a striking study in contrasts, blending raw materiality with refined craftsmanship. Its bold rectilinear form is anchored by a dark brick base, lending a sense of grounded permanence, while a wood-clad volume above introduces warmth and lightness. Crisp white stucco accentuates the home's clean lines, while a burnished concrete block segment extends seamlessly from the exterior into the interior, reinforcing the home's sculptural quality.

Inside, the design unfolds with a dramatic double-height living room, where an undulating raked stucco fireplace wall serves as a captivating focal point. A meticulously articulated steel staircase stands as a functional work of art, guiding the eye upward while adding a touch of industrial precision. Floor-to-ceiling glass invites natural light to pour in, framing views of the expansive backyard and large pool. Throughout the home, black and white swirling quartzite countertops add a sense of movement and depth, contrasting beautifully with the richness of walnut cabinetry. The dining room is wrapped in a moody dark limewash, creating an intimate, immersive atmosphere. Every detail is bespoke and handcrafted, ensuring a home that feels as personal as it is architecturally striking.
